Vintage Omega 2872 chronograph in 18k rose gold with caliber 320 from 1957

Description A rare and deeply elegant piece from Omega’s golden era — the reference 2872 in solid 18k rose gold is one of the most desirable dress chronographs of the late 1950s. While the ref. 2872 was also produced in yellow gold, rose gold examples are significantly scarcer and among the most sought-after by serious collectors. At 35mm, the solid 18k case wears with proportions entirely appropriate to its era. The vertically brushed dial is the centrepiece: applied coffin-shaped rose gold hour markers catch the light with an almost jewellery-like quality, framed by a stepped tachymeter chapter ring. Two subdials — running seconds at 9, 30-minute counter at 3 — complete the two-register layout. Inside, the hand-wound calibre 320, built on the Lemania 2310 ebauche and closely related to the celebrated calibre 321 that powered the Speedmaster to the moon. Dating to 1957, this is vintage Omega at its most refined.
