Description Royal Doulton Brangwyn Ware jug. This Royal Doulton Brangwyn Ware jug is decorated with a design by Frank Brangwyn R. A. (1867-1956) and is entitled “Harvest”. The jug was given a white ground, and then the design was lightly incised into the body, and coloured by hand. The designs didn’t sell particularly well at the time, and as always, the rarity of this ware has meant that it has become very collectable since then. Brangwyn was a prolific artist and designer across a number of diverse mediums, and was admitted as a full member to the Royal Academy in 1919. He was knighted in 1941. The jug stands 180 mm (7 inches) high and has a diameter of 116 mm (4.5 inches). Brangwyn Ware can be prone to some crazing, and this jug does have some crazing, although not particularly noticeable.
